This is an interesting article from mining.com yesterday. It makes sense that Korean companies are now targeting Chile, which because of their free trade agreement with the US, they remain eligible for the Inflation Reduction Act EV tax credits. What caught my eye is the mention of Korean cathode projects in Chile, which could potentially process Argentinian brine. As Argentina doesn't have an FTA with the US, this seems to be a way for the Koreans to skirt around that by using Chile as a stepping stone into the US to qualify for IRA incentives.
