Agreed. But if you are actually running out of diesel, you can pull over, flag down a passing vehicle to get to a servo for some fuel. Or you can siphon, or call roadside assist for a jerry can. The point is that the fix with an ICE vehicle is a bit easier.
With an EV that’s about to run out of charge, your options are limited to getting towed (at great expense) or calling for a mobile diesel generator to recharge, at which point no doubt you will be photographed and become another instant internet meme.
