The other issue with hydroxide compared to brine is the vast amounts of energy required to turn spod into hydroxide - 3 to 4 times more (depending on where you get your info from). This is a huge extra cost that can’t be discounted as a huge negative for hydroxide producers bottom line, regardless of where they are located.
