You have claimed they leap-frogged product qualification processes and progressed straight to funding, suggesting LPI could simply "do the same". Wrong. They did NOT.
Almost 40 tonnes produced from the pilot plant between early 2011 and the end of 2013. Pilot plant was in operation for about 18 months before they locked in the JV and debt-funding deal.

Signing of the JV and debt funding deal was announced on 17th Oct 2012. They had been sending samples to potential end-user customers for 18 months prior to this.
