They don’t understand that.
Their emotions are directly connected to the puppeteer’s strings and they react accordingly, like good little retail, jumping at shadows and panicking over the latest fear-porn headlines, continually banging their face against the closest tree, failing to notice that there is a forest growing.
Expect more of it, as this is the age of instant gratification, as they hunt for others to blame for their decisions.
A focus on future potential, and analysis of risk and uncertainty, along with acceptance of volatility, nowhere to be seen, as usual!
So many toys outside the cot; when will they learn from history…?
