Let's hope AGY get a move on. The next battery tech for BEV looks to be sodium-ion, and it's already in commercial use. The benefits of sodium-ion specifically in vehicles outweigh that of lithium, especially when it comes to safety and cost. Seems the go-to eventually.
At least Argentina have the Salinas Grandes - AGY can fast track and start mining their salt flats
