Anyone who has been following Australia's rocky road to decarbonise the energy supply will realise that dispatchable energy when the sun goes down or the wind isn't blowing is a big concern. Quinbrook and CATL last week announced deployment of eight-hour lithium-ion batteries. It looks like the designs have evolved to allow big scale lithium-ion to remove some of their weaknesses and move us closer to 24/7 cheap renewable energy. Very exciting.
