Indeed. AGY desperately needs money which they don't have. That being the case, why would anyone want to be holding?

Why would anyone want to throw money at AGY when they've demonstrated a lack of ability to produce and the lithium market is terrible anyway? Even if AGY had been able to get their second plant working as expected they wouldn't be able to afford to keep it running, and it would be very difficult to find funding in the current climate. Who is going to throw large amounts of money at AGY right now?

AGY is leaving it quite late just to organise a CR to prevent shutting up shop, it looks like they're struggling to organise anything, with JZ having already played every card he had. Even approval of a larger production permit wouldn't really do much at this point - they already have a permit to produce more than they could afford to even if they knew how to, so a permit to produce even more wouldn't do that much.

Gcar seems to be trying to make the point that since DLE is difficult and lithium production in general is difficult, it gives some sort of excuse for AGY, but... that just means it's a bad investment. If you want to use it as a reason to forgive management and say the industry is just too difficult despite management's competence (and you can say that with a straight face), it's just a reason to get out.
