I think you somehow misinterpreted something I said. Obviously, as I pointed out myself, production would be cashflow negative, no need to reiterate my own point. If it was going to be cashflow positive or even neutral they would be doing it. My point was that ongoing production is not progress or deriskink or any sort of advance in terms of proof of concept or tech etc. Doing the same thing repeatedly is not progress.
Again you seem to have responded to my next point without reading it. As I said, if it is still serviceable it would probably make the most sense to use the 500TPA plant to work on the method as their next step. If this is not feasible, and a new plant is to be built, it would make much more sense to build a small scale plant and get it actually working before building something even larger which costs hundreds of millions of dollars if it's just going to be a repeat of the same design which has already failed twice.
The point is, if you fail twice, the next step isn't (or shouldn't be) to fail even bigger, it should be to work out what you're doing before attempting to expand.
AGY has clearly demonstrated an inability to produce in a way worth actually doing, and they are not talk about sorting that out as a next step, they are talking about further expansion, which is strategically insane. They have already literally gone through the process of lying once about a plant doing what it was designed to (this was objectively untrue as the pilot plant did not achieve multiple explicitly stated objectives) and then gained funding to build a larger version which had the exact same problem, which they again failed to solve, and once again they shut it down, and once again pretended its intended purpose was different from its originally stated purpose (renaming it from a commercial production plant to a demonstration facility). They now want to build an even larger version of the same thing and are not talking about being focused on solving the technical issues.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me!
Your choice if you want to be there for round two with the exact same setup!
