Just to clarify @Poohbear, my comment wasn’t directed at you personally; I was speaking more generally. There’s been a persistent undercurrent here of talking down RIO, suggestions that they won't make their technology work, that they’d never pull it off, complaints about how much they've spent, how long it’s taking, and so on.

I’m not invested in RIO myself, but that kind of commentary often feels like a way to excuse JZ’s failure to lock in a funding deal during the last boom. He held out for the "best deal," overplayed his hand, and the market shifted. It’s not unique to AGY; I hold positions in other companies that made the same misstep by banking on a particular outcome that didn’t materialise. Big companies like RIO simply have far more leeway for mistakes, small companies like AGY don't.

My point is, taking jabs at peers/neighbours (even subtle ones) doesn’t change AGY’s current reality or improve its viability. No amount of "if we had their money, we could achieve xyz" will affect the current reality for AGY. And while it’s fair to acknowledge how far the company has come, that doesn’t alter the trajectory from here.

I’m not religious, but that old line “thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house” feels pretty relevant in this context.

Again, none of this is directed at you personally; it is directed at all negative commentary about RIO that would otherwise be labelled as "FUD" if similar comments were made on the RIO threads about AGY.
