Liabilities exceed assets - so what, page-44

My new car got stolen. It is not the fault of the thief, it is completely my fault. I should know that new cars are a target for thieves. I should learn from my mistake and only drive an old car, or better yet only catch public transport.

Respectfully, that's a bit of an incomplete analogy.
Here's what I think is a more representative one:

I could park my new car locked up securely in my garage in a quiet leafy suburb.

But I didn't.

Instead, I chose to park my new car in a dodgy part of town that I knew full well was dodgy, and which was proven to be frequented be desperate drug addicts and gangsters, and where the police are unlikely to patrol.

My new car got stolen.

I should learn from my mistake and only park my car in a safe area where it can be securely locked away.

Like it is easy to identify and - thereby, avoid - dodgy parts of town, it is really not hard to avoid buying dodgy stocks (without having to only buy banks and blue chips).
