My analogy would be more along the lines of playing craps but ultimately knowing the house always wins in the long run.
Everybody knows that statistically, the odds must be in the casino's favour, but they are still packed with hopeful gamblers.
I don't see the ASX as a casino though, so maybe not the best analogy.
To believe it's a level playing field is denial. You just have to use some of those aspects in your favour
