Novonix is a family affair for ex Dow Chem boss Andrew Liveris

There is no doubting Andrew Liveris’s enthusiasm for his impending board role at battery technology and graphite junior Novonix. Just look at the amount of family already involved in the business.
Noxonix - previously known as Graphitecorp - has Liveris’s brother-in-law Tony Bellas as its chairman.

And CBD spotted a Nick Liveris among the Novonix senior executive team.
Yes, he is the son of our soon-to-retire DowDupont chairman, confirmed Novonix boss Philip St Baker.
Nick joined Novonix in July last year when the company acquired a battery testing business and changed its name to Novonix - which means he followed dad into the business.

miner. His enthusiasm has grown as the group move up the food chain into the battery technology market, says St Baker.
Liveris currently owns 1.6 per cent of Novonix - roughly two million shares - after topping up his stake last year in a share issue.
And when he joins the board, Liveris will pocket 5 million share options at a price point that will be disclosed on the big day.
Not that Liveris needs the money after picking up $US65.7 million at Dow Chem last year, in a pay bonanza that was turbocharged by the chemical group's merger with DuPont.
The previous year he received a paltry $US23 million.
There is no denying the incredible profile, contacts, and business know how that Liveris brings to Novonix - as long as the minnow doesn't have to pick up his expenses bill.
Liveris' corporate history at Dow Chemical was littered with awkward examples of the Darwin native mixing personal and business interests - to the point that he paid back $US720,000 worth of alleged business expenses.
One of the more awkward touches that surfaced was the gift of three bottles of Grange to one of Nick’s teachers. It was part of a shipment of three crates of Grange bought on a Dow Chem credit card. One of the crates was shipped to Liveris's home address.
New York-based Nick joined Novonix from consulting group McKinsey.
