What is wrong with people.
Do Liberal supporters seriously agree with the following statement from John Alexander:
"penalty rates were keeping businesses closed and worker rights should no longer be the paramount concern."
Well lets just introduce slavery then.
Do we really want to become like the US?
He justifies by saying this:
"We have many examples in our region of coffee shops and the like not trading on weekends because of penalty rates"
If a business needs to cut penalty rates in order to make a profit then they SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS.
Its that simple.
I know plenty of coffee shops that are open on weekends and can afford to pay their workers the proper rates.
Using your employees as an excuse not to open means that you can't handle the heat so get out of the kitchen.
Wake up people!
