You should read the article more carefully before you start throwing insults around as you look very silly.

Qantas needs to readjust its future direction in order to compete with overseas carriers more effectively.

"To do nothing, or tinker around the edges, would only guarantee the end of Qantas International in our home Australian market," chief executive Alan Joyce told a news conference, noting that the international operation's cost base was about 20 per cent higher than its major rivals.

Its cost base is 20 percent higher than its major rivals.

1000 jobs to go in a company that employs 36000 people.

Not even 10% of its workforce. This is a normal strategic reallignment for QANTAS.

Nothing mentioned in the article about these jobs being lost because of the Carbon Tax.
