Morrison has abdicated his responsibilities, as he does, maybe to avoid being held politically accountable, maybe because he doesn't see it as his 'thing' like not being able to hold a fire hose.

For instance, he offloaded quarantine and aged care to the states which is where the most heat would likely be felt. He just tosses out bag-fulls of taxpayer funds while grandstanding about the Labor states. Its toxic. He couldn't even tell the media and his political underlings to back off when Victoria was in dire need of national support for their flagging morale.

Then we have a media which interrogates the Labor states and doesn't hold the LNP states to account. If they aren't held to account they get lazy and standards slip. The Labor states have to perform at a higher level because they are under greater scrutiny.
