Hard right and assorted other history re-writers are called out. Add history re-writer to the growing faults of former PM, now Liberal Party sniper and wrecker. Menzies would no doubt turn in his grave over recent claims and assertions.

    A small exert ...

Liberal Party founder Sir Robert Menzies in 1944, "went to great pains not to call his new centre right party a conservative party – rather he described our party as the Liberal Party, which he firmly anchored in the centre of Australian politics".

"Menzies said: 'We took the name 'Liberal' because we were determined to be a progressive party, willing to make experiments, in no sense reactionary but believing in the individual, his right and his enterprise, and rejecting the socialist panacea.'

"The sensible centre was the place to be. It remains the place to be."

To claim anti union, pro business policies balanced with some fair social policies as Labor or Labor Lite is simply churlish, reactionary and in no way based in truth, right back to the roots of the Liberal Party.

Attempted hijacking by poorly informed or poorly intentioned minority conservatives is the kindest that can be said.

    Vive le Centre !
