    cheers FB.... I can't imagine anyone here being anti-free market economy.... we're all investors so a free market is the core principle.

    but all markets need some degree of sensible regulation to protect investors form shonky operators - and there certainly are enough shonkies on the ASX to cause me to be very wary. Consumers also need certain protections and market regulation is also key to a safe and sustainable economy.

    hence social values are necessarily in-built into the market economics. Ethics and Regulations are necessary.

    nothing socialist is all bad. it was a significant platform of the Menzies for achieving national productivity growth. Health and education are the basic social requirements to ensure a healthy workforce. no political movement would neglect such vital social aspects of any nation. (ex. America).

    I wish you a good night tonight but I don't really want the Libs back in again - they have damaged Aus enough. its time for real change and a seriously hung parliament is very likely..... we'll debate this better on Sunday and all next week imo.
