Davo, one doesn't necessarily have to run a business in order to be a self-funded retiree. My neighbours from the 70s and 80s were both high school teachers and they had a wonderful self-funded retirement. They amassed a share and bond portfolio from living within their means all along. They epitomised the responsible, hard-working Liberal voter. They never saw themselves as victims. There's absolutely no reason, other than laziness, why most able bodied people in this country couldn't follow in their footsteps.
