yes i know but i singled out fuel because the rise and fall of the price afffects the hip pocket just about more than anything else.
the gst constitutionally speaking has been said to be illegal in its entirety. and there is a good case for that.
before the gst was touted the states were given the right by the commonwealth to raise their own income tax but they refused. i think this was around the late 80's.
