liberals detention centre legacy, page-72

Perhaps some of the strong Liberal/Howard haters on this forum can explain to me why we don't still get boat loads of people coming in to our northern shores.
Thanks to JH,we are no longer taken for a ride by that fiasco.
Genuine refugees some would say,but many came from far away places and by passed a few countries on the way to get here....also paid big bucks for the trip,..and some got rid of their ID before reaching Australia.
What a big rip off that cost us taxpayers heaps,no wonder the word spread that we were an easy country.
And there are still genuine people,especially in the UK that have to fill out the requd forms and go through proper channels and yet still have to wait, and yet these people have sufficient money to last them the rest of their lives, and would not be a burden like the illegal immigrants.Okay, the regular "goodie 2 shoes" on this forum will now get excited.
