The liberal party and Tony Abbott will pay more attention to their own internal polling rather than these dopey, tiny sample, fantasy-land-questions-asked polls that some dedicated labor promoters seem to endlessly parrot...

Tony Abbott has proven to be a winner so far since unseating Turnbull and forcing the union-bosses to dump Rudd for Gillard and of course saving Australia from the more dopey and damaging of Gillard's proposed "solutions" like for example her failed "Malaysia solution" ...

I suspect that Gillard was panicked into this rather wacky "election date in 8 months" announcement as a desperate distraction to get a few days to ward off yet another Rudd leadership challenge and possibly to force a change of topic in the media from boyfriend/houseboy Tim's embarrassing clanger about his stated preference for tiny Asian women's small finger size and rectal exams...

Of course there could also be the issue of the long, slow-moving arm of the law moving behind the scenes with the ongoing investigations into Gillard's past union related activities...

Since announcing an election date 8 months ahead of time is in reality about as news-worthy as declaring that the sun will rise on schedule on Christmas Day next year, I suspect that this Gillard trick will have a very short media distraction life and seems to be a tactic of extreme desperations to gain a few days grace for Gillard...

Of course with Gillard, you must be ever aware of deception as we have seen in the past so watch carefully and wait for the next penny to drop that I would not be surprised to be a major and possibly successful Rudd move for to regain party leadership...

What will be interesting to see is if Gillard can afford to continue with her apparent "open-borders for illegal immigrants/massive profits for gangsters/people-smugglers" for the next 8 months of her electioneering as the continual drip-drip of the almost daily massive numbers of illegal immigrants swarming across our open and uncontrolled northern border must continue to do massive damage to her socialist government...
