The Libs are a very confused bunch. They try to low toe to the left, but aren’t left enough to appeal to the Green and left Labor voters. They have become too left for a lot of traditional lib voters who have now moved to independents, One Nation, Katter, or some of the other more patriotic parties.
The country is very divided with people in the inner city becoming really left leaning and people in the country and outer suburbs resenting that. Both the Libs and ALP try to brand to all people and that leaves a very confused brand for both of them. They rely on the leanings of candidates in individual seats. It is worse for the Libs as they are mostly centre/ right and the left leanings of some in their party is destroying their brand.
