    I think Dutton might go alright as a Liberal Party attack dog. Similar to Abbott.

    Whether he actually becomes popular or not remains to be seen.

    I think history can teach us something here.

    Abbott was a good attack dog in opposition. It was only the dysfunctional Rudd/Gillard/Rudd government that gave Abbott his opportunity to win an election. People didn't vote for Abbott. They voted to get rid of Rudd because his government was so bad. Then shortly after, Abbott was replaced. Job done.

    As long as Albanese can keep his government together and do a reasonable job, they should be in government for quite a while.

    I reckon the National's leader vote will be pretty important here. If David Littleproud rolls Joyce and brings the Nationals more toward the centre, that will change the dynamic again.
