"The result won't be pretty."
Really? Let's examine a real-life example of a rapid change in the space of a few generations. Up until about 1800, 1850 even, CO2 levels remained steady at around 280. Since then, in the space of six or seven generations, they have risen 43% to 400. Since the 1850s, life expectancy has doubled, food production gone through the roof - the only negative I can see is that a human sub-set has evolved claiming that if the CO2 level climbs any further there will be a catastrophe. Other than that, sea levels have remained the same, the weather is good, with less floods than in the 1890s in particular (the recent floods in Brisbane were ripples compared to the 1800s) and I still seem to be able to breath OK. Bring on another 43% - maybe I can get four crops a year then!
