Not sure if "hijacked". I know enough people who are friends with top dogs in the party, current and previous PMs etc. Small town in that regard. Comments from them are that there are just less moderates (normals/ centrists) now and those remaining are the 2 ends of a long barbell, so it is more apparent. The moonbat left is just as crazy as the moonbat right on that dumbell. Party is likely to split if no new blood comes in or an electoral wipeout.

My observation standing outside looking through the window is that they are all (libs/labour/greens) nutjobs so whether they have their finger on any pulse I don't know
