    1/ Did he say why they couldn't use the existing conduit down your road, was it not suitable or too difficult and or expensive to make suitable?

    2/ Bull. Tracer wires are used on other services (gas, water), so if not finding the location of cables was the reason for building pits closer, it's a flimsy excuse.

    3/ What is wrong with boring in 250m increments? Pits don't have to be at those increments.

    4/ "Normal household" of yesterday, today, tomorrow, 5 years from now, 10 years from now, 15 or 20 years from now?


    Delays in new home connections are not new, we were told it would take at least 2 to 3 months (for a Telstra phone line) after we built our home (admittedly it was 20+ years ago).

    Yep, you pay extra if you want the extra speed (a user pay system). And as had been shown with those who had the NBN connection, a larger percentage than expected took up the faster speed options and were prepared to pay the extra, (up selling creates greater revenue, less revenue available with the Coalitions snail version).
