IMO the Libs have chased redneck-toolie-RW votes (RW Populism)
and in doing so lost its heartland

At present the Liberal Party is at great risk of splitting like the US Republicans and for similar reasons.

    When will that likely happen?

    IMO sooner rather than later

Aus 21C is much different to 50 years ago.

We have an entrenched Welfare State and we need ongoing progressive legislationto keep up
with global economics and the evolving digital age. The "tie it up with wire" of the 60's & 70's
is obsolete as is neo-Liberalism and its cousin "Trickle Down Economics"

The Libs need to craft 21C economic and social policies for the 21st C just as Menzies did
for WW2 and its aftermath to fit the bill then.
