It is a conundrum Pedro.
I am one who lodged a protest vote in the Senate in 2016. I have already advised my local federal member Ted O'Brien that, in spite of the fact he is a good guy, both my wife and I have resolved not to vote Liberal under the current leader. I am sure we are far from Robinson Crusoe.
I agree entirely that Labor under Shorten is shaping as being worse even than Rudd or Gillard - he is a throwback to Labor of the 50s and 60s beholden to the Faceless Men in the unions and regressing Australia with his hard left socialist agenda. However, equally, I believe the soul of the Liberal Party is at stake and it is crucial to Australia to have a strong main stream centre right Party to balance Labor. Short of Turnbull being rolled as PM, the only way to achieve that is a period in the wilderness to flush out those trying to turn them into Labor-Lite.
