    Australia does have significant problems; not the least of which relate to the homeless, the disadvantaged and the destitute.

    I've been fortunate enough to travel extensively overseas both before the GFC and recently. Whereas the problems in Australia are real and of concern those in many other OECD countries are in your face - begging on the streets, petty theft and personal anxiety is commonplace in France, Spain, Greece, Italy, the USA and even the good ol UK.

    Labor could and should have done better but let's not pretend for one moment that reactionary policies such as those of Germany, the UK or Spain have achieved anything more than the climate in which public alienation leads to societal breakdown and open rebellion.

    To enable you to better understand the extent of Tony Abbott's gross exaggeration and misrepresentation of reality; I strongly suggest you also study the just released NATSEM report; "Life is much better under Labor after all".
