I stumbled across it because I’m a fan of George Macdonald-Frasier (The Flashman Series).
It is gives a funny slant into the geopolitical landscape between the 1830-1900 period.
If you read a bit on WW1 and all the other wars/skirmishes we’ve had since 1900 till now you will see most of the same places and sovereign nations popping up.
An Aussie general took the Middle East in WW1 for instance.
