Self reliance does have a cost and I’m not saying we have to shun the world.
We do seem to be lead by nose on the big ticket items with the narrow/short term thinking that the costs are to high.
I don’t disagree that we have to take a balanced approach but both sides of politics seem to be happy keeping our country as a hole digger and end of the line purchasers.
Policies aimed at lowering costs to manufacturing would be a mature approach for a start or should that be policies to build a manufacturing industry as we seem to have dismantled most of it over the last 70 years?
I understand the almost impossible task this is and it will take many very smart and brave people to even break traction let alone getting the ball to roll through the first 360 degrees.
I’ll not hold my breath but as they say, Dreams are free so I’ll have big ones and hope.
