it was mentioned on tv this morning that the public service already has such a scheme - which is obviously paid by taxes. frankly, it is a bit difficult to justify paid parental leave for the public service, and not for all of private enterprise. -

maybe a more equitable idea would be to stop having paid parental leave as a perk for the public service - that would also save a billion or two
