I am certainly against this policy of giving people up to $75K of taxpayer's money for the privelege of having a baby. You make a lifestyle choice and should live by your choice. That's not to say there shouldn't be help for those who genuinely lead it (and aren't just bludgers).
However it's difficult for me to understand how the diehard Laborites are so up in arms about this as it is a very left wing policy. If it was Labor's policy they'd be jumping up and down with joy that money is being given away for nothing. Afterall it's no different (other than the amount) to money that has been thrown away to doting parents over the past few years.
Bottom line is the difference in policies is not going to be a deciding influencing factor in most voter's choice come election time. Time to find something else Laborites.
