I strongly supported Saddam Hussein ? Where did I give you that idea ? The only time I showed a "support" for him was when quite a few here were making some nasty remarks about him after he had been hanged and I said people should show some respect for the dead as the dead could no longer defend for himself/herself. I want to remind you that the Americans for many years were strong supporter of Saddam Hussein.
I strongly supported the Shah of Iran, Husni Mubarak ? I don't think I would use the adverb "strongly", but yes I do support them, for reasons I mentioned in my posts. It had been in the interest of the West that we had an ally in the Shah and Mubarak. By the way, the Americans were once strong supporters of the Shah and Mubarak.

"Is Gaddafi your new friend ? tell us if you like to see democracy and freedom for the people in Libya or you like to see the current massacre Continue."
For you to have a good understanding of where I stand on geo-political issues, you need to read most of my posts as you would have found there is a certain consistency in my line of thinking. In the Middle East, the West' interests are paramount in my mind, and you would have read that sentiment in my various postings on the Egypt unrests. I do not want to see the Arab states being captured by some hardline Islamists.
Libya has been foe and friend of the US and UK. Again I would not like to see a hardline Islamist administration rising from the current unrest as it would not be in the best interest of the West for that to eventuate.
I had already made a few posts saying that I don't believe the people in the countries we are talking abouit want a Western-style democracy, but yes they do want some freedom.
Innoocent lives are being lost in countries where there are social unrests; there are countries where the Americans have been directly or indirectly involved, there are countries where the Americans have not been involved in. The point is: it is not just authoritarian regimes which have been the sole cause of loss of lives.
