Last week, i sent email to Auscann regarding to the application progress.. and of course they wouldnt tell how far is the progress.
Here is the reply,
Thank you for your interest in the company. In response to your queries I provide the following information:
AusCann has applied for cultivation/production and manufacturing licenses through the regulator, the Office of Drug Control. While we are aware that they are progressing, the timeline is at the sole discretion of the regulator and we are unable to advise.
The amendments to the Narcotic Drugs Act and the release of the Narcotic Drugs Regulations legislates the cultivation/production of cannabis for medicinal purpose and the manufacture of medicinal cannabis therapeutics in all States and Territories of Australia. Licenses must be granted by the Office of Drug Control, in addition to meeting requirements of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (also on a Federal level) and individual State/Territory requirements, prior to any activity associated with medicinal cannabis within any State/Territory of Australia.
AusCann intends to manufacture domestically upon receiving all necessary licenses and permits.
I hope this is of assistance.
All the best
Melinda
Now,
Im sure with the management team they have, they should get the approval for cultivation/production and manufacturing licence.
But does anyone knows how the licence works? when they did get the licence does it mean that they already have the site/permit and ready to plant seed, production etc etc... or they will still have to find the site, farm or warehouse or whatever it is... and apply another licence for the actual use?
I was looking at an old article where they intended to cultivate in Christmas Island and they havent got full support from the local. So anyone know anything more about this?
