The ALP in Victoria has had it in for Tabcorp since before day 1.
During the float the ALP, then opposition, made statements causing the float to be made at the bottom of the price range (good for those investing in the IPO). Since the ALP gained power in Vic they have increased their tax take on the pokies. Now they are claiming they won't honour their obligations in regards to refunding the licence fee to ATH and TTS.
There is even speculation in todays paper that TAH & TTS won't be able to take part in the new licence auction in 2010 but will have to wait until their licences expire in 2012.
