That is my understanding, you are perfectly within your rights to refuse to do business if you choose to do so. Being open to the public does not convey the obligation to do business with everyone.
I can see more than a few lawyers with a steely glint of greed in their eyes over the next wave of court cases that will likely follow, with an emboldened LGBTQ etc lobby urging them on.
