This announcement has been widely telegraphed - so in keeping with recent expectations - absolutely no surprise! Thus would come as no surprise to Lynas as they would have been consulted all the way. there had to be compromise to make it saleable all round!
it reeks of Lynas input - eg 4 years to prepare cracking and leaching in Oz (perfect) - replace investment input to Condsoil to Malaysian Government - neutral. Lynas to negotiate with State governments for suitable site to repatriate waste - no doubt has been already sorted.
I will be very surprised if Lynas is not all over these compromises - in fact they are a party to them.
I believe we all need to be acutely aware of the need to be seen to compromise, to achieve a workable solution for all invested parties - no matter how trivial we perceive it to be - after all its their country
