QBL does not apply for licence, MCL (Medical Cannabis Limited) does... while MCL is an unlisted entity, QBL was only informed that they will be preparing and lodging such an application for the licence like a month ago in one of the Anns.
Subsidiary of MCL, Vitahemp holds the Hemp licence...
QBL first tranche of acquisition share issue of 27.5% is based on MCL's ability to get that licence.
Given the nature of business of MCL, it will be disclosed only when they have the license. They will inform QBL and thus forth. As per ASX rules QBL cannot be directly involved in MCL management and thus they do not come in contact with such information from MCL. MCL informs QBL and QBL then informs market.
QBL did inform ASX in query as well that certain working of MCL are of confidential nature. I think getting the licence does come under MCL's confidentiality.
Given licence & share issuance is linked, it could case delay before such information is released. IMO
AK is more then qualified to meet the requirements for a Cannabis licence given his background. He is proactive so it is very likely licence has already been applied for as he has been advocating it for years...
