Sorry but my recent experience with HML / BHD has demonstrated exactly how easy it is for the directors of an LIC to shaft their shareholders. Also the lack of effective action from ASIC leads me to believe that this type of thing will happen again, and again.
Until ASIC starts adequately protecting investors by taking effective and timely action against directors that do the wrong thing, the level of risk involved with investing in an LIC simply doesn't justify the level of return. Just my opinion.
