Not all LICs are alike. MFF is great. I trust Chris McKay as being totally aligned with shareholders, and he is far more talented than the likes of the BKI management team who think that by going to the Berkshire Hathaway AGM each year, the Buffett magic is in some way mysteriously imparted to them, maybe by osmosis. A couple of years ago, BKI did a capital raise with new institutions at a discount to NTA which in my view was the most appalling thing an LIC can ever do to its existing shareholder base. It is tanatamount to taking existing shareholder money and giving to someone else. What was worse, when I emailed my disgust they didn't seem to get it.
