I really can't see this share dipping below 70c unless something 'drastic' happens.
So it's a useless short at 80c. If I was them I'd be unloading shorts under $1, and loading up on shorts at $2.
But in the long run the markets go up, and shorting is a mugs game. You can only make 100% in shorting a stock, but you can make unlimited gains when a stock goes up!
