    Right I get you. Do you see many hybrid funds that mix long/short Aussie equities with global equities? Not as separate strategies, but as one. At present where many asset classes are expensive this could be useful.

    I understand the attractiveness of the LIC’s/fund structures with a lock up. Beneficial for the manager, and also ties the hands of say a FoF manager or a manager of a charity trust or something, so they only have to concern themselves with a decision once every couple of years or so. It’s a slow moving industry hey.

    I have a little bit of experience with the managed account structure. The licensing really isn’t complex at all, it’s an easy adjustment. I can’t help but think a managed account setup for domestic and global equities would be really attractive for the low-mid tier wholesale investors and insto’s. Great start for a firm that eventually wanted to go LIC.
