I have an insatiable appetite for news. I would gladly take up arms for our free press. Journalists, mostly, annoy the proverbial out of me.
I think that you need to have a healthy dose of scepticism but not so healthy that you might fall prey to conspiracy theories. Good luck.
As far as that relates to holding shares- decide for yourself how much weight that you might put on available information and then own your decision when your investments succeed or fail.
