    Intelligent post Onlynamenotused, I liked the last line. You seem to understand where your at. You don't know what you don't know though, the journey will be longer and harder than you anticipate, so don't count on this as a replacement for work just yet, keep it as a hobby for the moment. You need 5years training/experience and proving your skills before evening considering that, but good time to throw yourself into learning if made redundant, whilst still looking for a proper job.

    Maintaining capital is critical. Don't give that up lightly.

    Stop Day Trading. Trade duration should be inversely proportional to your skills. If learning, trade medium term 3 - 18mth holds with nil or very conservative leverage (no cfd's). You can shorten duration and add risk as you build skills.

    The path to success is not through HotCopper.
