The polls ask whether people want more tax, not whether the 'believe' global warming is happening. Polls on the subject were very different before the threat of personal financial impacts.
Especially evident on HC, but also plain to see elsewhere in society, people think with their wallets. Not nessesarily saying that is bad, it is just a fact of life.
