There is one thing Greenie.
The US dollar hegemony means we serve this system too. We arent a closed economy and need to execute a lot of internantional trade in USD, despite the fact that we may be trading with other countries and not directly with the US.
We are knee deep in it.
Nearly half of our domestic bank funding is from overseas. Primarily raising debt in the US.
The US dollar will one day lose its position as the world reserve currency. As for what replaces it, who knows. SDRs, quasi gold standard (I really doubt it), another dominant currency or pixie dust.
The financial plumbing is extremely complex. The end of the dollar could be next year or in several hundred years. Rome took centuries to decay.
