Excellent find, and quite thought-provoking, thanks ausheds.
I did realize that the current LAMP is not capable of refining HREEs, but I had thought that perhaps another extension might be added to the plant to process these. But the implications from this and other HC posts I recall seeing is that an AMP for HREE, as well as the necessary concentration plant at Mt Weld, may need to be separate facilities.
I recall omgwen3rds recently saying that at least one Chinese lady employed by Lynas has specialist knowledge about refining both LREE and HREE, so I assume NC has a plan. But I guess that pretty considerable additional capital investment will be required....
