I wouldn't be too influenced by what retail staff tell you, especially the likes of JB and HN. They are often influenced more by the margin they make on items, whether they have old stock to clear, etc. I purchased a TV once on the advice of the salesman at one of these stores and when it died about 12 months later the very same salesman told me it had been a common problem with these TV's and there was a class action going on in the USA. Trying to police what sales attendant say to customers in an attempt to sell things is pretty much impossible.
